kesali.com started as a 3-page Website in 1997.  Many people remember us under the name Brushwolf's Den when we started this site.  It's purpose was to inform resident fishermen and hunters about how good the action was each day.  We began receiving E-mails from people in and outside of our area, who wished to have other outdoor activities included on the site.  Our site began to grow as more and more information was added.  Today, the site has over 200 pages!!  There were quite few people who did not care for the name for one reason or another, so we changed it to kesali.com.  Kesali means 'forest spirit' and it seems to satisfy those unhappy with our original name.

Our Website has two main purposes.  One is to continue its original purpose which is to give current, accurate, and unbiased reports on our area's outdoor recreational activities.  The second purpose came about from residents who were becoming concerned about the history of our area.  They felt, and still do, that the newer people who have moved here have little or no interest in how St. Germain came to be or the people who were (or still are) an integral part of this community.

Many grumbled that the people who moved here in the past 10 years have the delusional idea that it is they who have made this area what it is.  Rather, claim these older residents, these people are living off and reaping the benefits of what the earlier people accomplished. This moved us into the second purpose which is the history part of our site, including Who's Who, What's What, and the Memorial Section.

At-A-Glance was developed because fishermen let us know in no uncertain terms they were tired of sites where they had to wade through boring fish stories and worn-out how-to's only to find the fishing information was out-of-date.  Our At-A-Glance charts give immediate access as to how things are going with o
ur area's outdoor recreational activities.  If the viewer wants more info, he only needs to click the activity in the chart.

The information we use on this site comes from people who are heavily involved in the particular activity, preferably on a day-to-day basis, while the activity is in season.  We are not inclined to accept information from businesses or organizations because we have found people, especially non-residents, to be suspicious of such information.  Past experiences of a certain number of these people, especially out-of-area snowmobilers, indicates there may be some basis to their suspicions.
