Residency: Unknown

Frank built and was the original owner of the Heart 'O the Woods tavern on Hwy 155.  He is the father of Charlotte Tameling and Janet Kazda and Leon Zaruba.

Leon Zaruba

Residency: Born here

Leon is a son of Frank Zaruba and was born in what is now Saint Germain in 1931.  He operated the Heart O' the Woods tavern for a time after his father passed away, then sold it.   He worked for the Vilas County Highway Department for about 20 years.  He also operated a neon sign business in Sayner for many years.

Date deceased: June 2003
Cause of death: Unknown
Interment: Plum Lake Cemetery

Joseph Zellner

Residency: Late 1800's

Joe Zellner operated a construction business in the area. He built Murmuring Waters in 1910 and also built both Molgaard's Indian Lodge and the Peacock.  Many of the other older buildings in the area were built by him.  Year of death and location of interment are unknown.

Thomas Zimmerman

Residency: 1975

Tom moved here in 1975 when he purchased the Heart O' the Woods tavern on Hwy 155.  He ran it for a few years, then sold it to an unknown person and worked for the Town of St. Germain for many years after that.
