retired in 1978 and moved to St. Germain with her
husband. She was well-known and well-liked in the area
and people often went to her for medical information.

Alan Olejniczak
Residency: Born here
Alan is a son
of Ervin and
Regina Olejniczak.
He married Cheryl Maney of Eagle River, WI and
they have three children, Amy (St. Germain), Abby (St. Germain),
and Dean (St. Germain). Alan is currently an area carpenter and
home builder. He also helps run Northland Resort and is very
active in youth hockey. He and his wife remodeled and added on
to cottage number one making it their home next to the resort.

Curt Olejniczak
Residency: Born here
Curt is a son of Ervin
and Regina Olejniczak. He married Jan (maiden name
unknown) of Three Lakes, Wisconsin and currently lives
in Park Falls, Wisconsin. They have two children,
Caitlin (Park Falls), and Cole (Park Falls ). Curt
formerly worked for GTE in Minocqua, WI prior to
transferring to a different phone company in Park Falls.

Ervin Olejniczak
Residency: 1951
Ervin "Erv"' Olejniczak
moved here from Milwaukee in 1951 and purchased
Northland Resort on Lower East Bay of Little Saint
Germain Lake from the Komassa family. He operated this
resort, which included a tavern (called Erv's Tavern),
for many years.
The resort is
currently run by two of the four children,
Douglas and
Alan. Erv's Tavern
was closed in the late 1970s and the building was sold
to Ed Seeger who moved it to his house on Upper East
Bay. The tavern building is now used by Mr. Seeger
as a guest cabin.
In addition to Ervin
owning and operating the resort, he was also caretaker
to many summer residents, a master plumber, and local
carpenter.

Regina Olejniczak. She married Jim
Hendrickson of Eagle River, WI and they have two
children, Kevin (Menomonee Falls, WI), and Joel
(Minneapolis, MN). She currently lives in Wausau and
works for Best Western Hotels.

Regina Olejniczak
Residency: 1951
Regina was married to
Ervin Olejniczak and moved
here with him from Milwaukee in 1951. In addition to
running the resort (Erv's
Northland Resort and Tavern), she opened
Evergreen Beauty Studio in the early 1960s. This was
the first beauty shop in the St. Germain area and was
attached to her house. The home where the beauty shop
was located is still on Birchwood Drive.

Walter E. Olson
Residency: Unknown
Walter owned
the Olson Rug Company in Chicago and owned a
large amount of land on Big Saint Germain Lake
encompassing most of the western shoreline,
including what is now Fath's Big Woods Resort.
He donated a considerable amount of money to the
Eagle River Library, which now bears his name.
Many years later, he sold the land on Big St.
Germain, much of which was PSL'd.
Olson also
owned a large amount of land on East Bay of
Little Saint Germain, including what is now Pine
Valley Resort. He also owned a large
parcel on Moon Lake. His
white Adirondack-style wet boat house is still
on the lake shore. Upon his death the
property was donated to the Eagle River Hospital
which, unfortunately, PSL'd it.

Joseph Osier

Joe purchased
Hunter's Resort on
the south shore of Big St. Germain Lake in
partnership with Wilbur
"Bo" Bodecker.
Eventually, Joe bought out Bodecker and operated
Osier's Resort for many years. J
