Robert Fath

Residency: 1974

Bob is the owner/operator of Fath's Big Woods Resort on the west shore of Big St. Germain Lake. He has also worked at Trig's grocery store in Eagle River for many years.

Henry Fruend

Residency: 1906

Henry was born in Samond, MO in 1884 and came to Vilas County in 1906 with his brother, Joseph.   The two men purchased 80 acres of wild land in Farmington (St. Germain), which they owned in partnership until 1910 when he sold his interest to Joseph.  He lived in Sayner for a year and in 1911 received a commission as forest ranger in the Boulder Junction District.  Henry married Mary Cook on May 29, 1907 in a ceremony performed at Lost lake Resort.

Howard Fruend

Howard was a long-time postmaster in the St. Germain Post Office until retirement.

Francis Froehlich

Residency: 1900

Francis was married to Michael Froehlich.and helped with the operations of Lost lake Resort.

Michael Froehlich

Residency: 1900

Michael purchased 95 acres on Lost Lake where he built and operated Lost lake Resort until 1913.  He then sold this to his son-in-law, Clarence Shannon.  He then built a hotel in Sayner, WI which he operated during summers and this building still exists on main street.  He spent his winters in Alabama where he owned and operated Perdido Beach Resort which still operates today.  He passed away in 1938.  Location of interment is Plum Lake Cemetery in Sayner, WI.
